Breaking: Pay Us Now or No Vote -Teachers to Gov’t

Pay us now

Newly posted teachers, who were appointed in August and begun working are demanding payment of salary. The group, which faced setbacks after completing College of Education in 2022 and continued with national service in 2023 says it is tired of the treatment the government has taken them through.

Speaking with few of the teachers on field, it is revealed that hunger has become their best friend and that they are just enduring the hardship.

”We are just trying to live with the hunger, it has become like a best friend now.” We are appealing to the government to pay us as early as possible.

Meanwhile, GES has not yet generated the staff ID for the newly posted teachers. It has been months now since their recruitment but no sign shows whether salaries of newly posted teacher would be paid soon.

According to some teachers, they will not go to the polls on December 7 if the government fails to pay their due salary in full.
