Introduction
The establishment of Senior High Schools (SHS) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTS) is shared among the 16 states of Ghana as Volta Region is not an exception.
Volta Region as one of the biggest regions in Ghana has its share of educational development, where minds and psychomotor are trained and nurtured.
There are several towns in the Volta Region, and in each, there is one or two Senior High Schools or Senior High Technical Schools. These schools provide education and skills to young Ghanaians across the country.

Towns such as Sogakope, Mepe, Anglo, Abor, Akatsi, Keta, Amedzorfe, and Adidome, all in the Volta Region have at least one Senior High School. Some of the schools are either established by the community or the Government of Ghana.
Ho as the capital of Volta Region has school like Mawuli Senior High, among others. Since Western Togoland (Eʋes from section of Togo – now Volta) joined Ghana through plebiscite, the region has seen several development opportunities.
Even though the Volta Region was later divided into two, to make Oti out of it, its Senior High Schools are not affected and they have since been producing good and skillful students.

Senior High Schools in Volta Region
Kpeve Senior High School
This is a Senior High School that is given education to wards who have been placed there by Ghana Education Service (GES). This school is located in the Kpeve township.
Leklebi Senior High School
The second SHS is Leklebi Senior High School and it offers all general programmes which students can choose from. This school can be located in Leklebi.
Likpe Senior High School
This school is located in Likpe, a town in the Oti Region, which was created from the Volta Region by Government of Ghana. The school is poised to training young wards for a better future.
Mafi-Kumase Senior High/Technical School
This is a Senior High Technical School, which is training skills, nurturing talents and bringing out the hidden gifts of students. The school is located in Mafi-Kumase, in Central Tongu District.
Mawuli Senior High School
Ho Mawuli Senior High School is one of the best schools in the Volta Region and it has a track record of producing workforce for Ghana’s development. The school is in Ho.
Mepe St. Kizito Senior High/Technical School
Located in Mepe, St. Kizito is a Catholic school established by the Church and later Government of Ghana took over the education. This is a Senior High Technical School and providing artisan training to its students in the Mepe township.
Ola Girls Senior High School
As one of the Girls Senior High Schools in Ghana and Volta, Girls have passed through the school and have become a well ushered human resources. This SHS is located in the capital of the region, Ho.
Peki Senior High School
The educational cake has not exempt Peki, a town in the Volta Region as it also has its share of the Senior High Schools.

Peki Senior High/Technical School
The Peki town is also blessed with Senior High Technical School, which raises artisans, who contribute to the growth of Volta and Ghana at large.
Shia Senior High Technical School
It is as good as Shia, a suburb of Volta region also has its share of education institutionalization. This school is located in the Shia township.
Sogakope Senior High School
Also nicknamed Sogasco, Sogakope Senior High School is one of the oldest second cycle institutions in Volta Region and Ghana. The school has since its establishment produced well-to do individuals into the Ghanaian working space.
Sogakope Technical Institute
There is also technical institution in Sogakope, which also add value to the production of human resources to add to the workforce of the country.
Sokode Senior High/Technical School
Sokode is also not left out as it has a Senior High Technical School that is providing education and training of skills to its students.

Somě is also blessed with a Senior High School, which is serving as pride to the entire town. This school offer several programmes that can benefit students in the future after completion.
St. Catherine Girls Senior High School
As the only Girls educational institution in the Tongu enclave, St. Catherine’s Senior High School is one of the best. This school is located South Tongu District on the Sogakope-Akatsi road.
St. Daniel Comboni Technical/Vocational Institute
Popularly know as Combotec, St. Daniel Comboni Technical & Vocational Institute has the track record of producing only artisans such as, Electrical Engineers, Fashion Designers, Building Engineers, etc.
St. Mary’s Seminary & Senior High School
The St. Mary’s Seminary, which was first full missionary institution had it elevated and Senior High School attached to it. This school is located in Lolobi.
St. Paul’s Senior High School
Popularly known as Spaco, St. Paul’s Senior High School us one of best boys school in Ghana. The is located in Denu.
Tanyigbe Senior High School
Tanyigbe is also a blessed and fast growing town in the Volta Region. The Senior High School is the town’s pride as it is the second cycle institution that is educating children from the community.

Taviefe Community Senior High School
In attempt to establish more educational infrastructure, Taviefe has also received a Community Senior High School. This has given the people from the town joy as what they were praying for was answered timely.
Three Town Senior High School
If towns are boasting with second cycle educational institution, Three Town can also stand and raise shoulders as it is also benefiting from education infrastructure shares. This school is located in the township.
High Schools such as Tongor Senior High Technical School; Tsiame Senior High School; Tsito Senior High/Technical School; Vakpo Senior High School; Vakpo Senior High/Technical School; Ve Community Senior High School are all in Volta Region.

Conclusion
Volta Region is a blessed land, containing peaceful and disciplined people including Chiefs and Queens from various Traditional Areas. Senior High Schools in the Volta Region could not have been these numerous if not for the vision and toil of some able men and women from the area.
